Chrome:

If you can see the link, right click it and select “open in incognito window:

If you can’t see the link, open a new incognito window:

Click the 3 dots to the far right of you URL window (1), then click “New incognito window” (2). In the new window, go to medium.com and search for the person who might have blocked you.

If you use Edge (the new IE), the process is similar. Let me know if you can’t figure it out. :)
