The causes are so varied
Someone wore perfume
Something bloomed
Suddenly, my body reacts

Lungs compressing, throat closing
Rib cage pressing in, restricting
Allergens attacking me by air
Trying their best to do me harm

Nose itching, twitching, tickling
Grabbing a tissue, I await
The inevitable wall shaking
Loud sneeze after sneeze

Then comes the cough
Rattling my chest as my throat
Tries to close to keep the
Allergens out of my body

Slowly, the attack passes
Lungs relax, itching stops
My body quiets waiting,
Healing from the invader

Rest, recuperation, healing
Slowly, steadily, until finally
I can breathe again
Until the next attack
