Accepting the beauty of entropy

Butterfly on washed fleece, by Jordana Urbik — Used with permission

Murphy lives within me
Every moment, every mile
He has been with me
As long as I can remember
Everything breaks in
Unexpected ways
People tell me,
“Be more positive”
“Change your outlook”
I am positive:
If I had no bad luck, I would have no luck
Over the decades, I have learned to adjust
I take the pain, turn it around,
Rejoice in the success of family and friends
Knowing my luck is what it is
Life goes on
Things break
I adjust
My body
Continues on
My soul loves
My mind grows
Things breaking
Leads to strength
Joy appears in the
Midst of the pain
Life unfolds in beauty
Like a butterfly
Landing gently
On our hearts
