Well, I knew they lied before I was 50 — that’s true. But I didn’t truly start to realize how much until just after that point. All I can hope is that I didn’t do to our son what my folks did to us. (He says we didn’t. On that I have to trust him.)

Soul work is the hardest. Just a few words, but so many questions in my mind as I got ready to publish. I am glad it is touching people’s hearts, but I am especially glad for those friends (like you, sir) who know what it takes to get over that kind of childhood.
